“Under My Feet”

I was riding in my car one day when a song came on called, “Under My Feet” by Zach Williams. Zach Williams is one of my favorite artists, but I somehow never came across this song until that day. It hit home to me and I think it will for you too.

“Under My Feet” was written specifically for the Devil. Throughout the song it is reminding Satan that he has lost. Once your life belongs to Christ your chains are gone and he can no longer hold you captive. Zach Williams talks about the importance behind reminding the Devil that he is under your feet! A close friend once told me to never allow the Devil’s lies keep you down because it will hurt not only your spiritual growth, but also the plan and ministry that God has called on your life.

How many times do we find ourselves sinking, feeling like we are out of God’s reach? The Devil uses that time in our life to make us feel unforgivable, forgotten, and sometimes too far from God’s saving grace. His goal is to keep Christians down and nonbelievers away from God. Sadly, so many of us listen to that lie. John 10:10 says that “the thief {Devil} comes only to steal and kill and destroy..” BUT thankfully, “I {Jesus} come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.” God doesn’t want us to listen to the Devil. He wants us to trust Him and rely in His strength so that the Devil can’t trap you.

In your life, the Devil might convince you to believe that when you make mistakes God can’t forgive. Or maybe it’s when life is going great. You are growing and thriving in your walk with God, but then out of nowhere the Devil hits you with a memory of your past mistakes. I don’t know about you, but those are some of the hardest for me. It knocks the wind out of me and stops me in my tracks. It’s then when I feel that I can’t move any further or grow any deeper in my relationship with God. And THAT is exactly what Satan wants us to believe. However, Our God is so much greater. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” God sees you, loves you, and is sad when we make choices that don’t honor him, but he will ALWAYS be faithful to forgive his people when we go to him. So don’t let the Devil take over your mind, heart, and life. Give it over to God and remind the Devil that he is under your feet and through the power of God, there he will stay!

I now listen to this song just about everyday. It is a daily reminder to me that the Devil will not be given a seat at my table. I strongly encourage you to watch the music video on YouTube “Under My Feet” by Zach Williams!
